Lapindo ready to supply additional gas to PGN

Lapindo Brantas, the operator of Brantas production sharing contract (PSC), East Java expected to be ready to develop its gas field in Sidoarjo to enable it to supply additional 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of gas to state gas distribution firm PGN starting next year, Binis Indonesia reported Tuesday.

The daily quoted Lapindo manager Nanang Sudiro as saying that the completion would ramp up Brantas gas production from 22 MMCFD currently to 32 MMCFD. Current gas production comes from Lapindo?s four wells in Wunut.

Nanang said the company spent US$ 1.6 million to develop the well, including 7-kilometer pipeline.

Australian oil and gas company Novus Petroleum Limited has 50 percent working interest in Brantas PSC. (*)
