Leakage has little effect on gas delivery: PGN

State gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) claimed that a leakage in its Labuhan Maringgai-Muara Bekasi offshore transmission pipeline since May 21 has little impact on gas delivery to customer state utility firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

"The gas delivery is still relatively normal. We are now preparing for the repair works," Jobi Triananda, a PGN Director, told petromindo.com.

Communications Manager Ridha Ababil said to petromindo.com that PLN' Muara Tawar power plant still managed to absorb gas at a slightly below volume set under the contract.

"The contract is 141 mmbtu. On May 21, PLN absorbed 147 mmbtu, and 151 mmbtu the day after. Then on May 23, it absorbed 106 mmbtu. That means the shortfall is at 35 mmbtu only (from the contract)," said Ridha,

On the repair works, Ridha said PGN will speed up the works during this weekend.

"During Saturdays and Sundays, gas usage normally is not that high. That's why we'll accelerate the works during this weekend.
