Leakage occurs at Pertamina's South Sumatra oil pipeline

A leakage occurred in Pertamina's oil pipeline in kebun Duren area,the Sukaraja district in the Prabumulih Barat regency, South Sumatra, local newspaper Sriwijaya Pos reported on Friday.
Mulyadi, an official of Pertamina in the Prabumulih Barat regency, said that the leakage occurred on the 8-inches rail crossing pipeline segment in Patuh Giling village on Wednesday night. But he said the oil leakages caused no major problem.
According to him, about 20 workers had been hired to repair the leakage and to clean the oil from the area. "Pertamina operates two vacuum trucks to clean the affected area from oil," he added.
Mulyadi said that the leakage had caused no major pollution problem because it occurred at a location far way from the villagers' residential and plantation areas. (*)
