Several legislators have been gathering support to form a special House of Representatives team to investigate corruption cases at the state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina in the past, a source said.
The source said that around 20 legislators had given their signature to support the forming of the special investigation team.
The source said that the legislators were deeply disappointed on the slow progress of the Attorney General Office in uncovering the corruption cases at Pertamina.
The source added that although Pertamina had disclosed that there were around 159 cases that might be linked to corruption and nepotism practices in the past, but the Attorney General had failed to bring even one case to the court.
Several former ministers during the authoritarian rule of former president Soeharto as well as powerful businessmen had been linked to alleged corruption cases at Pertamina.(R. Amoros)
