Len Industri wins photovoltaic power plant project

State-owned PT Len Industri has won tender for the construction of a 5 MW photovoltaic power plant in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Kontan daily reported Tuesday.
Len will provide funding of about Rp 125 billion this year to develop the project, which will be the first solar power plant project in the country not funded by the state budget, according to Alihudin Sitompul, director for new energy and renewable energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
He said that Len outbid six other competitors in the tender including PT Indo Solusi Utama, PT Kharisma Ambara Sakti, PT Matra Mandiri Prima, a consortium of MDS, PT Brantas Energi, PT Widjaja Tunggal Sejahtera, consortium of SunEdison Energy Holding BV, and PT Listrik Surya Kepulauan. (*)
