Korea-based LG International Group (LGI) said it aims to increase the trade volume of coal from Indonesia mines this year to 10 million tons from seven million tons last year.
?Totally, we (LGI) will handle 10 million tons of coal from Indonesia this year,? Chris Kim, Managing Director of Batubara Global Energy (BGE) told Petromindo.com.
BGE is a trading company in Indonesia under the flag of LG International Group.
Chris said that BGE would be the single off taker for coal to be produced by LG?s coal mines in Indonesia, with sales volume target of around 7.5 million tons this year.
He added that coal export by other Indonesian miners to South Korea via LGI this year is expected to reach 2.5 million tons.
