Korea-based LG International Group (LGI) unveiled plan to acquire coal mine in Kalimantan as it seeks to expand its coal mining business in Indonesia.
?We have a plan to acquire another coal mine. We are looking for good asset, particularly in East Kalimantan,? said Chris Kim, Managing Director of Batubara Global Energy (BGE).
BGE is a trading company in Indonesia under the flag of LG International Group. Currently, LGI has two mining companies in Indonesia, namely PT Mega Prima Persada (MPP) and PT Ganda Alam Makmur (GAM).
Chris said that the target mine must have already obtained the so-called clean and clear certificate from the government, located far from village and not located within forest area.
He said that the company has already held talks with a coal mine owner for possible acquisition. He declined to provide further details.
