The regent of East Kutai regency in East Kalimantan, Mahyuddin ST has urged companies which have obtained licenses either in mining and plantation sectors to start their activities, Kaltim Post reported on Wednesday.
Regent Mahyuddin promised that companies that could soon begin their activities would receive special incentives from the local government. "We don't want our productive land being neglected due to the reluctance of such companies to carry out their activities," he said.
The regent also said that the local government was also ready to build infrastructure such as port to support the activities of the investors. (*)
