Lintasarta launches satellite communication for offshore oil & gas industry

PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta (Lintasarta) officially launched on Wednesday Lintasarta Sea Star, an IT-based satellite communication service for oil and gas companies, particularly those operating in offshore areas.

"Lintasarta Sea Star works well for oil and gas and mining companies that are at sea in floating rigs or ships," the company's Commerce Division General Manager Herry Waldi Wilmar said on the sidelines of the launch of the service held at the firm?s Warehouse and Training Center in Tangerang, Banten.

With Lintasarta Sea Star, he said, the customers can also maximally use many types of communication such as data, voice, including video without interruption.

Herry emphasized data related to oil and gas exploration and exploitation are needed in real time and can be directly accessed by the central office as well as the government regulatory body in the sector.

"Lintasarta Sea Star is a communication satellite which is equipped with an auto-tracking feature that enables oil and gas companies to stay tuned to the satellite even in moving condition. It uses the frequency of C-band antenna with a diameter of 2.4 meters and a weight of 1 ton," he explained.

To meet customer needs, Lintasarta Sea Star is available in two service packages, namely Lintasarta Sea Star Advance Private and Lintasarta Sea Star Advance Teleport.

The company also guarantees maximum comfort up to 99.5 percent through a Service Level Availability (SLA) with sales support located in seven major cities, namely Duri, Jakarta, Balikpapan, Surabaya, Makassar and Jayapura.

According to him, Lintasarta as an IT service company with more than 25 years of experience ensures the ease and comfort of businessmen in the oil and gas sector to run their activities.
