Lintasarta set to enter oil and gas industry

The company?s General Manager for Data Communications, Herry Widi Wilmar, said in Jakarta on Friday that the company would be able to provide a communication network for oil and gas companies to support downstream as well as upstream activities, such as for communication of 2D and 3D seismic data, topography map, data communication, email, voice, video conference to CCTV.
Lintasarta provides high-speed communication infrastructure using fiber optic, broadband wireless access (BWA), very small aperture terminal (VSAT) and High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA).
?VSAT solution can be used for both onshore and offshore oil and gas exploration and production activities, ? he was quoted by Investor Daily as saying on Saturday.
VSAT solution has been widely used in oil and gas industry using Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC) VSAT and Internet Protocol (IP VSAT) technologies which are supported by platform Fix and Gyro, Herry said.
?Lintasarta has operated more than 11,000 remote VSAT throughout Indonesia ,? he told reporters at the 36th Convention & Exhibition of the Indonesian Petroleum Association on Thursday. (*)
