Lion to continue drilling in LOFIN-1 prospect

ASX-listed Lion Energy Ltd said that it would continue to drill 8-1/2 inch hole to 13,505 feet MD in the LOFIN-1 well, and after logging of the open hole section, set a 7 inch casing liner hanger, then it would drill 6 inch hole to 13,687 feet MD and set 5 inch casing below the top of the primary objective Manusela Carbonate formation.
The company said in a press statement over the weekend that after that it would drill 4-1/8 inch hole to 13,715 feet MD and conduct DST #1, then continue drilling 4-1/8 inch hole to 14,115 feet MD and conduct DST #2, before continuing to drill 4-1/8 inch hole to TD at 14,685 feet and conduct DST #3.
It stated that the LOFIN-1 exploration well was spudded on January 17th 2012. It was drilled to 4,093.8 meters (13,432 feet) MD in 8-1/2 inch hole using 12.6 PPG mud. The well kicked at this depth and despite attempts to control inflow, the entire 8-1/2 inch open hole section of formation collapsed,
Following the cutting of the drill string at 11,400 feet, with the drill string and bottom-hole assembly below 11,400 feet stuck in the well bore, a cement plug was set on top of the stuck section of drill pipe.
On May 26th 2012 a Whipstock Packer was positioned at 11,230 feet and set. A window was then milled in the casing from 11,205 ? 11,219.5 feet and formation drilled in 8-1/2 inch hole to 11,231 feet.
The LOFIN-1 prospect is a thrust fold four-way dip closure anticline, which is located approximately 56 kms to the west of the producing Oseil oil field that has produced in excess of 10 million barrels of crude oil since production start-up in late 2002. The LOFIN prospect is identified by 2D seismic lines.
The primary target, the Manusela Carbonate, is interpreted to be similar in reservoir characteristics to the Oseil oil field reservoir. The vertical closure of the LOFIN prospect as mapped is in excess of 550 metres (1,800 feet) from the crest to the lowest closing contour (LCC).
Deterministic STOOIP and reserves for the LOFIN structure have been estimated assuming 550 meters (~1800 feet) of vertical closure as: STOOIP of 412 mmstbo, and recoverable reserves of 82 mmstbo, using a 20% recovery factor.
