Director general of oil and gas Iin Arifin Takhyan officially on Friday submitted to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro the list of the companies who submitted bidding proposals for the oil and gas concessions offered by the government early this year.

According to Iin, the companies on the list are:

2. Inpex (Japan)

3. Petronas Carigali (Malaysia)

4. Santos (Australia)

5. Provident Energy (Canada)

6. Vietnam Investment Development Corporation (the subsidiary of PetroVietnam)

7. Korean National Oil Company (South Korea)

8. PT Hexindo Petrolen Tabuhan (Indonesia)

9. PT Petrolen Energy (Indonesia)

10. PT Seleraya (Indonesia)

11. Medco Energy (Indonesia)

On Thursday, Iin said that there were 15 companies who submitted bidding proposals for the concessions offered by the government in February this year. He also said American energy giant ExxonMobil Corp was among the 15.

On Friday, Iin corrected his previous statement, saying ExxonMobil was not on the list.

Iin maintained there were 15 companies who submitted bidding proposals for eight of the 11 concessions offered by the government, saying some of the 12 companies on the list are joint ventures. He refused to specify the joint ventures. (Godang)
