Indonesian upstream oil and gas authority BPMIGAS said that two LNG vessels that were loading in Arun when giant earthquake hit Aceh province on Sunday had completed loading and had left for their respective destinations on Tuesday.
BPMIGAS deputy chairman Trijana Kartoatmodjo said that LNG vessels Aquarius that carried 125,000 m3 of LNG and Echigo Maru with 123,000-m3 cargo had left for South Korea and Japan, respectively.
Trijana said earlier that ARUN NGL might cancel shipments and declare force majeur should aftershocks and tidal wave reoccurred.
Loading process was delayed for several hours on Sunday.
Trijana, however, did not say when the next vessels are due to loading. Earthquake experts suggested that aftershocks followed by tidal waves might reoccur within the next two weeks. (godang)
