Local firms can handle maintenance of oil refinery: Pertamina

The maintenance of oil refinery facility of the state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina in East Kalimantan can be handled by local firms, according to company public relations official Chusnul Busro.

Chusnul was quoted as saying by the local Kaltim Post daily that although Pertamina would form a subsidiary special for doing maintenance job, in reality the implementation of the maintenance job would involve local firms.

Chusnul made the statement in response to demand from several local businessmen that the maintenance of the refinery facility be given to local contractors after Pertamina cut its contract with PT Elnusa Petro Tekni earlier this month.(*)
