Local governments revoke 47 IUPK permits

Director General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) R. Sukhyar said that as of September 19 a total of 47 Special Production Operation IUP (better known as IUPK) permits have been revoked by local administrations.
?There are 47 Special Production Operation IUPs (for coal transportation and marketing). In addition, a number of 150 IUPKs are inactive currently and likely to be treated the same,? Sukhyar said.
As reported by this portal earlier, various local governments have also revoked a total of 292 IUP mining business permits as part of efforts to revamp the country?s mining sector, saddled with overlapping permits, illegal mining, and tax and royalty evasion.
