At least 10 residents at the Lambing Village in West Kutai regency, East Kalimantan, have threatened to block the access road of coal mining company Banpu today to protest the eviction of the graves of their ancestors.
Kaltim Post reported that residents were angered after the graves of their two ancestors were leveled to ground during the eviction works carried out by the mining company recently. They would continue the protest until the company agreed to settle the problem with the relatives of the dead.
The villagers said that they had reported their action plan to the local authorities including the police and the local military office. (*)
