Logindo adds one AHTS vessel

IDX-listed shipping company PT Logindo Samudramakmur Tbk has acquired one new anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel as the company is expanding its fleet to grab greater business volume from the oil and gas sector.

Logindo President Director Eddy Kurniawan Logam was quoted by Bisnis Indonesia daily as saying that the new AHTS vessel was called Logindo Enterprise 12,000 BPH equipped with dynamic positioning system technology.

The company, which went public earlier this month, said in October it has allocated US$150 million to buy new offshore vessels during the 2013-2014 fiscal years to serve the growing domestic oil and gas sector.

It said that it planned to operate 6-8 new AHTS vessels until the end of 2014. Logindo said at the time that it has already received two new AHTS vessels from China, and was expected to get another one in December.(*)
