Viet Nam's Long Thuan, a coal trading company, is seeking for up to 5 million tons of coal in 2017 among others from Indonesia.

"Aside (from) our current suppliers, we are (also) looking for good Indonesian coal suppliers in order to build a strong long-term partnership," Long Thuan's Procurement Officer Nguyen Thanh Ngoc (Mr. Felix) said to Petromindo.com recently.

Long Thuan operates in the fields of energy, port and international logistics investment, boiler systems and agriculture including the supply of coffee beans.

"Our consumption forecast in 2017 is around 5 million tons and will be grown up rapidly next year," Mr. Felix said.

Long Thuan requires coal from Indonesia with specification no more than 1 percent of total sulfur content and with 4,400 kcal/kg GAR, 5,300-5,500 kcal/kg (NAR) and 6,700 kcal/kg (GAR).

Coal consumption in Vietnam is increasing up rapidly amid massive development of power plant projects.
