Luhut dissolves performance oversight unit

Interim Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Luhut Panjaitan has issued Ministerial Regulation No 23/2016 to dissolve the ministry?s performance oversight unit (or UPK KESDM).
The ministry said in a statement Friday that the function of the unit will then be taken over by the ministry?s Secretary General.
The move comes after Luhut last month decided to dissolve a number of ad hoc units in the ministry set up by predecessor Sudirman Said as part of efficiency drive.
The units that were dissolved included the Team for the Acceleration of Renewable Energy Development (P2EBT), the Unit for the Implementation of National Electricity Development (UP3KN), and the National Exploration Committee (KEN).
