ASX-listed Nido Petroleum Limited said on Monday it has been advised by Operator Lundin Gurita B.V. that the Hakuryu-11 jack-up rig spudded the Gobi -1 exploration well in the Gurita PSC in Natuna Sea on Oct. 13, 2014.
The well is currently in the process of running the 30? conductor to a depth at or around 205 meters Measured Depth.
The Gobi-1 is a wildcat oil exploration well designed to test the hydrocarbon potential of Oligocene and Early Miocene stacked fluvial sandstone reservoirs in a 3-way fault dependent structure in the Jemaja Basin.
Nido has a 10% working interest in the PSC with Lundin holding the balance.
