PT. LV Logistics Indonesia (LVLI) has signed a contract with Sumitomo Heavy Industries (SHI) for the project shipment and forwarding of the 2x30 MW PLTU Pomalaa coal fired power plant in Southeast Sulawesi owned by state owned miner PT Aneka Tambang.
LVLI was represented by President Director Muhammad Ediansyah and Sumitomo Heavy Industries (SHI) Ltd represented by Chief Representative-Indonesia Seiki Kawada (Chief Representative - Indonesia) during the signing ceremony which was witnessed by Tito Budisusanto, PT LV Logistics Marketing Director, LVLI said in a statemen over the weekend.
Initial value of the contract is US$5.8 million - subject to additional freight than the contracted value as at times additional cargo may need to be shipped and scheduled for execution within fourteen months between December 2013 and January 2015 with total cargo volume more than 40,000 m3.
The contract award signifies Sumitomo's - one of Japan's and the world's leading business groups - trust and confidence to LVLI capabilities to manage and handle shipments of their special purpose and sophisticated cargoes from origin points, comprising places of more than 15 (fifteen) countries in 3 continents to their final destination point in the rather remote Pomalaa region..
LVLI with its global network of LV Shipping offices and trusted agents, as well as the backing of local ship owners, trucking companies, and heavy equipment owners - most of which are sister companies of LVLI is fully capable of handling project shipment of such magnitude, according to the statement.
The contract award to LVLI - which is relatively young, being formed in June 2012 - also shows that the age of a company does not necessarily determine the quality of a company. Rather, it is the people within the company and their work capability and ethics that will determine the trustworthiness of such a company, the firm added.
