Major reshuffle at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources: Source

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will announce next week a major reshuffle within the ministry's key positions as part of its restructuring program, Neraca daily reported on Thursday.

A source told the daily that the reshuffle would affect almost all senior officials at the ministry's top positions. Director General of Electricity and Energy Development Luluk Sumiarso would be appointed to fill in the post of the Inspector General which is now held by Endro Utomo.

Wimpy S. Tjetjep, currently Director General of Geology and Mineral Resources, will be appointed as Secretary General replacing Djoko Darmono. Djoko and Endro are preparing their retirement.

The position of Director General of Geology and Mineral Resources will be filled by Simon Sembiring, currently the head of the research and development.

The source also said that the government would also soon appoint Hary Purnomo, a senior official at Badak NGL to replace Pertamina's president Baihaki Hakim. Badak NGL is the operator of the country's largest LNG plant in Bontang, East Kalimantan. (*)
