Malaysia's Dialog in cooperation pact with Pertamina

Malaysian firm listed at Bursa Malaysia announced Friday it had signed an MoU with Indonesian state oil and gas firm PT.Pertamina on 22 September 2005 for the joint development of projects in Indonesia and other countries, mainly in the areas of improving hydrocarbon recovery from matured assets (oil and gas fields) of Pertamina and development of petroleum terminals.

The company did not give further detail.

Dialog said the MoU is in line with the company's strategy of developing into a technology-based integrated specialist technical service provider to the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.

"This strategy will draw upon the expertise of Dialog's associated company, Helix RDS Sdn Bhd, in the field of subsurface technology; and Dialog's's experience in developing and managing petroleum terminal in Malaysia," the company said in a statement.

Helix's subsurface technology is used in production optimisation and enhancing the recovery of hydrocarbon from matured oil and gas fields.(alex)
