Malaysian construction firm PECD Bhd has won a contract to build and install liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage facilities at the proposed LPG terminal facility in Sukra, Indramayu, West Java, The Business Times of Malaysia reported Wednesday.

The RM4 million (US$ = RM3.8) contract was awarded from PT Bhakti Mingasutama to PECD?s engineering, procurement, construction and commission division company Warga Hikmat Sdn Bhd.

PT Bhakti Mingasutama, together with PT Tiga Samudera Perkasa and PT Petronas Niaga Indonesia, has received principle licenses from the Directorate General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, allowing them to be active in LPG business.

?The contract with Indonesia?s oil and gas company is the first for our division in Indonesia and we are confident of securing more projects in the near future,? The Business Times quoted a statement from PECD released on Tuesday.

Indonesia is a key market for PECD as the group continues to intensify its operations overseas.

PECD has recently established its Indonesian subsidiary PT Peremba Nusantara to engage in providing oil and gas services for projects in the country. (*)
