Malaysian energy firm Ranhill Group is eyeing to build 150 MW combined cycle power plant near Jakarta, Malaysia?s Business Times reported Friday.
The report said that Ranhill, which has a stake in a gas field near Jakarta, plans to submit a proposal to set up a 150MW gas-fired power plant in the country with the encouragement of the Indonesian Government.
Ranhill has a 49 per cent equity interest in Ellipse Energy Jatirarangon Wahana Ltd, the owner of a marginal gas field, with an option to acquire another 2 per cent stake in the company.
The gas field is currently producing 10 MMCFD.
?Ranhill may up production to 25 MMCFD and with that kind of gas production, we can develop a 150MW power plant,? President Tan Sri Hamdan Mohamad was quoted as saying. (*)
