Malaysia to double coal import

Malaysia is expected to double its coal consumption to 20 million tonnes per annum in 2010, with 80 percent of the supply will be expected to come from Indonesia.
The coal would be used to fuel Malaysia?s power plants in peninsular area.
Malaysia import almost all of its coal requirements.
The number was revealed during a discussion held by The Malaysian Indonesian Business Council (MIBC) in Jakarta last Monday, as reported by Malaysian online media The Star. (*)
