Malaysian firm bags contract to support ConocoPhillips ops

Malaysian firm Alam Maritim Resources Berhad announced on Monday that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Alam Maritim (M) Sdn Bhd, has signed a contract agreement with PT Swasti Bahari Utama, Indonesia for the charter of one unit of Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel (AHTS) namely, MV Setia Emas for a total contract sum of approximately US$7.45 million for a period of three years.

The AHTS is to be sub-chartered to the ultimate client which is Conoco Phillips Indonesia Inc Ltd. Setia Emas began supporting ConocoPhillips' operations in the Natuna Sea from the Matak base camp on Dec. 1, 2007. The contract for the vessel will continue through Nov. 30, 2010. (alex)
