Malaysian firm plans hydro power plant in N. Sumatra

Malaysian firm Protection and Maintenance Sdn Bhd plans to develop a 200 MW hydro power plant in North Sumatra to help meet growing demand in the region which has been suffering from power shortage for years, a report said Friday.
The plan was unveiled by visiting CEO of the company M. Zaini bin Abdullah to reporters on Thursday following a meeting with North Sumatra Vice Governor T. Erry Nuradi in the provincial capital of Medan.
No further details were provided. Protection and Maintenance had previously developed a 2x5 MW power plant in Aceh. (*)
