Malaysian firm win power project in Lombok

A consortium comprising of Maser Power Producers of Malaysia and two Indonesian firms PT Bismika Muria Persada and PT Bina Energi Investama has won a tender to develop and operate a coal-fired power plant in Pantai Induk Gerung, West Lombok, Suara Karya reported on Wednesday.
The construction of the steam power plant which would have two generating units, with a capacity of 25 MW each, will absorb investment of about US$50 million, of which about 51 percent would be financed by the Malaysian company and the other 49 percent to be provided by the two Indonesian firms.
Chairman of Maser Power, Abdul Halim said that the Malaysian company, in cooperation with local companies, also planned to build two other coal-fired power plants in Pontianak, Kalimantan, and in Palembang, South Sumatra.
Both power plants will also have two generating units, with a capacity of 25 MW each (*)
