Malea signs contract with Toshiba for supply of parts for power plant project

Private power company PT Malea Energy on Thursday signed a three-year contract with PT Toshiba Asia Pacific Indonesia for the latter firm to supply the required supporting facilities and spare parts for a 2x45 MW hydropower plant being developed by the former in Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi Province.

This was said by Malea in a press statement, but did not provide further details about the contract.

The statement said that Malea Energy, which is owned by the family of Indonesia?s Vice President Jusuf Kalla, is also currently in the process of developing four other hydro power plants with combined capacity of 1,535 MW including three in Sulawesi: in Poso with capacity of 655 MW, 180 MW in Toraja, and 450 MW in Mamuju. Another 250 MW is being developed in Kerinci, Jambi Province.
