Earlier, a technical problem had forced a total shutdown at the field on January 8 which was then exacerbated by a protest by a group of people.
Some production equipments were damaged during the protest, halting the electricity supply to the field's production facilities needed to support operation after the shutdown, a media statement revealed.
Rinto Pudyantoro, Head of PR and Institutional Affairs at SK Migas, said in the statement unveiled on January 9 that technicians could not be sent to the area where the protest took place to repair the equipments on safety concern.
But now operation has returned to normal, said Rinto.
?Following the field's return to operation, as of 8.50 pm (January 8), PT PLN has received normal supply of gas for its three power plants in the area, all the three plants are now back in operation again," he said.
