ASX-listed Kangaroo Resources Limited reported another solid monthly production performance from its 99%-owned Mamahak Coal Mine in East Kalimantan with total coal production of 16,281 metric tons, based on final survey, achieved for the month of October.

It said that the production for October was lower than the record output achieved for September (51,123 tons) largely due to the commencement of mining in a new pit area during the month.

This has resulted in a higher stripping ratio of 19.1 recorded during the period from the 310,825 BCM (bank cubic meters) of overburden removal.

Kangaroos Managing Director Mark O?keeffe , said: ?The October monthly production figure reflects the continued and sustained effort we have targeted since mobilising the mining contractor PT Putra Perkasa Abadi at Mamahak."

?This is an important time at Mamahak as we see the project transition to consistent production rates and ram-up to targeted productions volumes,? O?Keeffe said.

At the end of October, 166,770 tons of coal had been stockpiled at Mamahak. It said that a total of approximately 1,775 tons of coal were transported to Bayan Resources? Balikpapan Coal Terminal during the period towards end of the month when the river draft increased.
