Oil and gas company Mandiri Arafura Utara Ltd plans to carry out 2D seismic survey at the North Arafura block in Mimika Regency, Papua, in the middle of this year.

A source told Petromindo.com that the company is currently conducting Environmental Baseline Assessment (EBA) study ahead of the planned 2D seismic survey.

Mandiri acquired the block from BP Indonesia in 2013. The North Arafura PSC is located on the coast of the Arafura Sea, 480 kilometres southeast of the BP-operated Tangguh plant, covering an area of just over 5,000 square kilometers.
