Coal mining firm PT Mandiri Intiperkasa, which operates coal mines in Nunukan, North Kalimantan, said that export volume in April was limited at one cargo of Panamax vessel with capacity of 70,000 dwt.

Mandiri Corporate Director Herman Kasih told petromindo.com that the company deliberately limited the export volume in a bid to help increase price of the commodity.

He said that export volume in May was planned for seven Panamax cargoes, of which five had been shipped to China, India, Thailand, and Cambodia.

Mandiri this year plans to produce five million tons of coal, up from 4.5 million tons last year.
