Many mining potentials in Madura

A number of districts in Madura island, East Java, has untapped natural resources potentials, including mining prospects.
Sampang district, for instance, has a good potential in mining, especially phosphate, dolomite and natural gas. That resources have been found on Mandangin island, with an estimated daily production of 6,000 barrels. In addition, Kodeco and PT Santos are conducting surveys at Camplong and Ketapang's offshore that is projected to contained significant amount of gas.
Other districts have their own specialties. Pamekasan, for instance, is good for plantations and salt industry, while Sumenep has strong potentials in the fishery sectors. (*)
