Marathon Oil eyeing to expand Indonesian upstream portfolio

US oil firm Marathon Oil said on Friday it was eager to expand its Indonesian upstream portfolio after more than 10 years of absence.

?Marathon is actively looking for opportunities in Indonesian upstream, including possibility to participate in the next exploration bidding round,? F. ?Woody? Pace Jr., Marathon?s Indonesian GM said after signing Pasangkayu PSC agreement

Marathon, in partnership with Canadian oil firm Talisman Energy was awarded Pasangkayu offshore block in Makassar Strait.

Prior to exit Indonesia in the nineties, the company has interest in Malacca Strait PSC and Kakap PSC. (alex)
