Marathon says deepwater drilling in progress

US oil, gas firm Marathon Oil Corp. said that exploration drilling operations at its Pasangkayu deepwater block in Makassar Strait is progressing.
Marathon began its deepwater exploration drilling program in the block in August this year, and is currently targeting the Bravo and Romeo prospects, the company said in its Quarterly Report.
The Bravo exploration well is expected to reach total depth in the fourth quarter while the Romeo prospect is expected to be reached during the first half of 2011.
Marathon is the operator of Pasangkayu block with 70 percent interest. (alex)
