Market overview from globalCoal for March 06

Today saw Richards Bay physical tonnes trade marginally lower at $103.40/t FOB, while earlier in the session, April DES changed hands at $95/t DES AR for Russian material - the lowest prompt level for some time. Paper markets also lost slight ground, with Cal 13 contract across all three main hubs losing around $0.15-0.25/t during the day. Oil suffered heavier losses today on the back of Iranian nuclear talks, which saw front month Brent crude sink by $1.92/bbl to sit at $121.88/bbl near close of play.
An Indian cement plant awarded a RB Cape at $117/mt CFR Dharma port to a trader today. A couple of other cement plants were also seen in the market with their requirement in cape and panamax vessels respectively. Another RB Cape was sold to an Indian trader just shy of $ 104.00/mt FOB today in Asian trading hours.
