Market overview from globalCoal for September 6

Coal prices posted a mixed performance today, with November DES trading early on at $127/t DES AR - down $0.50/t on yesterday's best bid. Prompt Richards Bay tonnes were bid/offered in a similar range to yesterdays while Newcastle physical tonnes traded at $123.50/t FOB for October loading - up from yesterday's choice market of $123.00/t FOB. Oil recovered in the afternoon, which saw front month Brent crude sit $1.22/bbl higher by 17:13 BST at $111.30/bbl.

Whilst most Indian players feel that Indonesian market yet to gather momentum post last week's holidays as few offers churn out of this market, prices seems to be stable out of Indonesia with 53/51 adb TM 39/41 at around $ 49/mt;4000 GAR (single mine) around $53/mt; 4200 GAR(single mine) around $57/mt, 58/56 adb is shown around $71/mt while blended high CV 63/61 still at early 90s. RB traded at $ 114.85/mt FOB in 50kt for a prompt September loader last week in the Indian market. (*)
