Martabe gold mine eyeing 260,000 ounces output this year

HK-listed G Resources said that the Martabe gold and silver project in North Sumatra targets around 260,000 ounces of gold and 2.3 million ounces of silver production in 2016 from it gold and silver mine in Batang Toru, South Tapanuli, North Sumatra.

Katarina Siburian Hardono, Corporate Communications Senior Manager of Martabe Mine, told Petromindo.com on Monday that this target lower than last year?s realized production which reached around 302,449 ounce of gold and 2.5 million ounces of silver.

?The target is however higher than normal production target,? she said adding that the firm?s normal production target is around 250,000 ounces.

Katharina revealed that if the production performance in the first and second quarter of this year is good, the company will revise upwards the output target in the second semester. ?We might revise our target to higher than 260,000 ounces,? she said.
