Marubeni gets S. Sumatra geothermal project stake

Geothermal developer PT Supreme Energy has picked Japan?s Marubeni Corp. his partner to develop Rantau Dadap geothermal power plant project in South Sumatra.

President Director Supramu Santosa did not give detail on the percentage of shares the company agreed to sell to Marubeni.

?The deal is not signed yet,? he said on Thursday.

The Rantau Dadap geothermal field has prospect to generate 220-MW of electricity.

Industry sources said Marubeni was competing with Norwegian firm Statoil for Rantau Dadap stake. (alex)
