Marzuki Daham named head of Aceh oil and gas regulator

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said has appointed Marzuki Daham as head of the newly-established Aceh Oil and Gas Supervisory Board (BPMA), according to AJNN.net, an Aceh-based website.

The website said it learned the appointment of Marzuki after seeing an invitation into the installment of Marzuki dated April 7, 2016 signed by the ministry?s Secretary General M. Teguh Pamudji. The instalment is scheduled to be held on April 11 at the ministry.

Aceh?s Governor Zaini Abdullah proposed three names to be the head of BPMA, namely Zulkifli Abubakar, Marzuki Daham and Lukman Umar. By law, the minister will choose from among the names proposed by the governor.

BPMA was formed as part of the autonomy of Aceh. The province is given the right to supervise its own oil and gas blocks. Except for the blocks in Aceh, all blocks in the country are put under the supervision of SKK Migas. (*)
