East Kalimantan coal miner PT Mega Alam Sejahtera (MAS) produced 750,000 tons in 2012, slightly higher than output of 680,000 tons in previous year, the company?s official told Petromindo.com
Coal from MAS has calorific value of 4800-5000 kcal/kg (ADB) with high moisture of 40%. According to the official coal from the mine is still open for interested buyer
Under offtake deal, all coal from MAS should be through coal miner PT Bara Jaya Utama (BJU). BJU is Balikpapan-based firm, which has a mine in Berau regency.
For 2013, the company plans to increase its coal output but it will all depend on market situation, the source said.
?At least, we will produce same volume with last year?s output and we hope the market is improving so we can boost our production to 125,000 tons per month,? the source added.
