Materials for Krakatau Steel?s project shipped from Shanghai

The first batch of steel structure and refractory materials for the Blast Furnace Project of IDX-listed state owned steelmaker PT Krakatau Steel was smoothly shipped on board at the10th Area of Shanghai Terminal on Nov. 13, 2013, according to MCC International Co. Ltd (MCC Trade).
In August this year, Krakatau signed a deal with contractors ? a consortium of a group of Chinese companies MCC Trade and Capital Engineering and Research Incorporation Limited (MCC-CERI) and Krakatau Steel?s subsidiary PT Krakatau Engineering ? to increase the production capacity of Krakatau Steel?s blast furnace from 1.2 million tons per annum (tpa)?to 1.4 (tpa) which will require the output of the coke oven plant to be increased from 500,000 tpa to 550,000 tpa.
Under the EPC agreement, MCC Trade is responsible for all the marine transportation business by delivering all the materials and equipment from domestic and foreign ports to the Port of Cigating in Cilegon, Banten, the firm said in a statement obtained Monday.
?The project of PT Krakatau Steel is featured by tight schedule, heavy task and difficulties in operation. Within a short period of several days, MCC Trade conquered various difficulties under emergency situations, and fulfilled the whole logistics processes for the first batch components on a high quality and efficiency basis, including package/inspection at the plant, chartering space on board, port services, application for customs declaration and inspection and loading on board,? the firm said.
