General Manager for Matindok Area at PT Pertamina EP, Medianto Satyawan, was quoted as saying that the work would be completed in December 2015. The project was initially projected to be completed this year before previously being revised to early 2015.
?At this moment, we are in the engineering and construction phase with 26 percent progress. Our target is to be on stream in December 2015, later than the initial target due to changes in gas impurities,? Medianto said as quoted by The Jakarta Post.
The Matindok gas field development is seen as necessary for the country?s gas industry due to its significant resources.
Matindok is estimated to be able to produce 105 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas. Most of the gas from Matindok will be allocated to export markets, which will help strengthen Indonesia?s position as a leading LNG exporter, Investor Daily said. (*)
