Etablissements Maurel & Prom S.A. (M&P) has agreed to sell its entire 20.07% stake in Seplat Energy Plc to Heirs Energies Ltd for $496 million, the company said on Jan. 5.
M&P entered into a binding agreement on Dec. 30, 2025, after market close, to divest its holding of 120.4 million shares in Seplat. Seplat is a Nigerian independent oil and gas company listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Nigerian Exchange.

The transaction marks M&P’s exit from an investment it has held since 2010. M&P said the divestment allows the group to monetize its position and refocus capital on direct investments in oil and gas assets.
Heirs Energies is a subsidiary of Heirs Holdings, a Pan-African investment company.
M&P is controlled by PT Pertamina Internasional EP (PIEP), a subsidiary of Indonesia’s state-owned energy company Pertamina, which holds a 71.09% majority stake in the French oil and gas group.
