IDX-listed PT Mitrabahtera Segara Sejati Tbk (MBSS), which is engaged in coal transshipment business, has set a target to transport between 40-45 million tons of coal this year.

Meanwhile, coal barging volume during the first quarter of this year reached 9.1 million tons. ?The barging volume is supported by our vessels fleet currently totaling 75,? Director of Corporate Finance and Corporate Planning, Ika Bethari told Petromindo.com Wednesday.

Meanwhile, for floating cranes volume, Ika said that this year the company has set a floating cranes volume target of 22.5 million tons. In the first quarter of this year, the volume was 5.6 million tons.

?We don?t have plan to expand our armada again after buying one barge in the last quarter. But of course it would depend on the business strategy to be adopted in the future,? Ika said.

Last year, MBSS managed to deliver barging volume of 32.8 million tons, and floating cranes volume of 17.5 million tons. The subsidiary of PT Indika Energy currently owns 75 barges, 80 tug boats, and seven sets of floating cranes.
