McConnell Dowell wins contract from INCO to rebuild furnace

Australian-based construction firm McConnel Dowell Corporation said on Wednesday its Indonesian subsidiary PT McConnell Dowell Indonesia had been awarded a contract from nickel miner PT International Nickel Indonesia (PT INCO) for the Furnace No 3 rebuild and associated projects at the PT INCO?s nickel production facility at Soroako on the island of Sulawesi.
The company said the construction contract that valued at approximately A$11.5 million involves demolition of the existing furnace and construction of a new furnace together with 2 No Kiln rebuilds and a Programmable Logic Control (PLC) upgrade. (alex)
