PT McDermott Indonesia (PTMI) has completed the fabrication, integration, and onshore mechanical completion of the Belanak floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel, Oil & Gas Journal reported Wednesday.

The FPSO set sail Monday from the Batam FPSO berth en route to ConocoPhillips-operated Belanak field offshore South Natuna Sea.

PTMI engineers will continue to provide commissioning assistance to the vessel offshore.

PT Brown & Root Indonesia awarded PTMI the contract in July 2001 to fabricate more than 25,000 tons of topside modules and integrate the facilities on to the FPSO vessel's hull. PTMI simultaneously invested $5.25 million to upgrade its FPSO berthing facility to handle vessels as large as 300,000 dwt.

The topsides facilities will process approximately 100,000 barrels per day of total hydrocarbon liquids, including cryogenic processing for the production and export of the LPG products, and up to 500 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. The FPSO hull will have a storage capacity of one million barrels of oil. (*)
