US engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) services McDermott International announced Friday that a consortium, which includes subsidiaries of McDermott and PT Encona Inti Industri, has been notified of its selection as the successful bidder in the tender process for an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Gendalo-Gehem natural gas development in East Kalimantan.

Award of the contract will be subject to various conditions, including government and regulatory approvals and final investment decision, the company said.

Gendalo-Gehem project, which is also known as Indonesia Deepwater Development (IDD) project is developed by US energy giant Chevron Corp. The project includes two separate hub developments, each with its own floating production unit, subsea drill centers, gas and condensate pipelines, and onshore receiving facility. Maximum daily production from the project is expected to be 1.1 billion cubic feet of natural gas and 47,000 barrels of condensate. A final investment decision is planned for 2014, subject to the timing of government approvals.
